ICSI + Testiculor Biopsy

ICSI stands for Intracytoplasmic Sperm Injection. It is a common form of infertility treatment used in case of male infertility.

ICSI is often conducted after testicular biopsy, which is a specialized test used to check the development of normal sperms in a male. During this procedure, a sample of tissue from one or both the testicles is removed to check whether the male partner is infertile or not.

ICSI immediately precedes In vitro fertilization (IVF). During ICSI, a single sperm is first extracted from the male donor’s semen. Next, that sperm is injected into the egg directly for fertilization. It is an assisted reproductive technology used for male infertility treatment.

Once the egg is fertilized, the zygote is transferred into the womb of the mother for further development. Depending on the success of the ICSI procedure after testicular biopsy, one or more cycles of ICSI may be conducted.

ICSI is similar to IVF, but there is a slight different in the method used to achieve fertilization in each case. In ICSI, sperm is directly injected into the egg, which in IVF, the eggs and the sperms are mixed together to achieve fertilization.
