Excision of Large Angiofibroma
Angiofibroma is also known as fibrous papule and it is defined as a dome-shaped mass that grows in the superficial dermis. The lesion gets activated by a proliferation of the stellate and cell growth around blood vessels. Both men and women can be victims of the skin lesions that start to show up in individuals after they have crossed puberty.
Juvenile Nasopharyngeal Angiofibroma (JNA) is common among young individuals and only a surgery is useful for excision of large angiofibroma without affecting the normal growth patterns of the nose. Surgery is needed to remove pterygopalatine, Infratemporal, Intracranial and orbital extensions of JNA on the facial structure.
Facial angiofibromas are lesion growth composed of fibrous tissues and blood vessels that start appearing on the face at an early age. Treatment options may vary, depending upon the psychological and physical repercussions of the large angiofibroma.
Usually, angiofibromas grow solely on the nose skin with a measurement of 1-5 mm. However, there can be multiple angiofibromas, growing bilaterally symmetrically across the cheeks, chin and nasolabial folds.
