Gingivectomy is a type of a dental surgery that removes the gum tissue damaged due to gingival buildup or any other gum disease. This procedure is conducted to remove diseased gum tissue after all other non-surgical options have failed or when the gum infection has started to invade the bones and ligaments that support the dental framework.
