Heart Catheterization is a procedure used to diagnose and treat cardiovascular conditions. A long thin tube called a catheter is inserted into an artery or vein in your groin, arm, or neck and threaded through blood vessels to reach the heart. PDA Closure which is short for a Patent Ductus Arteriosus Closure is a cardiovascular procedure that occurs when the ductus arteriosus fails to close after a mother gives birth. Patient Duct Arteriosus signs are usually visible in the child within the first year of life. This condition is manifested when the child has symptoms such as poor breathing and a lack of proper weight gain. This is usually most common in premature babies. It occurs when the ductus arteriosus vessel does not close before the child is born. It is believed to be largely due to the underdevelopment of the heart and lungs as the baby was likely born prematurely or underweight. A Heart Valve Surgery or a Heart Valve Replacement Surgery is the treatment usually prescribed by the doctor to fix a PDA. This procedure also fixes the Leaking Heart Valve that PDA causes.
