Right Carotid Endarterectomy is an operation during which your vascular surgeon removes the inner lining of the artery when it has become thickened or damaged. This procedure eliminates a substance called plaque from the arteries and helps to restore proper blood flow to the heart. As you age, plaque can build up in the walls of your arteries. This procedure is designed to clear that plaque out so that proper blood flow can be fully restored to the heart.

A Mini Sternotomy is used to perform an aortic valve replacement, which is done through an open-heart surgery. This is where a damaged valve is replaced with a new valve. A variety of implant options are available including some made of synthetic materials, and others made of animal tissues like that from pigs or cows.

Emergency Stenting is a procedure where a stent must be inserted to help remove the plaque blocking a blood vessel. The plaque that is being removed from around the blood vessel is very dangerous as it is made up of cholesterol, and has built up there over time. Stents are put in to clear the area in an emergency surgery. If left untreated, oxygen-rich blood cannot get to the heart properly and further health complications will arise.
