Cabrol Procedure

The Cabrol Procedure is comprised of an ascending aortic replacement with a composite graft. This is followed by a direct re-implantation of coronary arteries into an interposition graft which in anastomosed side-to-side to the Aortic Graft. An Aortic Graft is a newer form of treatment for thoracic aortic aneurysms that is less invasive than a full-on open-heart surgery. This procedure involves a synthetic fabric tube (graft) supported by a metal scaffolding (stent).

The Bentall Procedure is a cardiac surgery operation involving a composite graft replacement of the aortic valve, aortic root, and ascending coronary arteries into the graft. Aortic Aneurysm Surgery is used to do the repair at the site of the aneurysm. The choice of which type of surgery to use depends on the location and size of the aneurysm the person has suffered.
