There are two popular moderate trekking trails in Kumaon for those who are looking for an over the edge experience. Milam Glacier Trek (2290m) is an 18 days trek, which offers an exhilarating trekking experience. It is a 58kms one way trek that begins from Munsiyari. Sunderdhunga Base Camp trek (4100m) is another moderate trek in Garhwal. The trek for the same begins from Loharkhet, which is about 130 km away from Almora.

There are two popular difficult treks in Kumaon that promises extreme adventure. Adi Kailash Trek (4770m) is a strenuous 23 days trek; it is like a dream to every adventure aficionados. Offering spectacular views and challenging trail, this trek begins from Tawaghat, which is about 122kms from Kausani. The Nanda Devi East Base Camp (4250m) trek is an 18 days strenuous trek that begins from Lilam, which is about 12kms from Munsiyari. Namik Glacier, Panchachuli Base Camp, Binsar Trek, Bhatkot and Sinla Pass are some other brilliant treks in Kumaon that offers equal thrill and adventure.
