Dunagiri

47 kms north of Ranikhet, Dunagiri is rich in historical and religious significance. Many myths bear testimony to this fact, according to which when Hanuman was carrying the Sanjiwani booty a piece fell here and since that day, this place is known as Dunagiri.

Rich in natural splendour, Dunagiri is adorned by a temple of Vaishno Devi (the famous cave Goddess). To cap it all, Dunagiri offers a clear picture of the imposing Himalayas.

For pilgrims Dunagiri is abuzz with festivals during Chait and Ashwin months of Navratras.

Dwarahat
15 kms. Here Sealdah Bikhoti mela is a sight to behold.

Pandukholi
10 kms from Dunagiri. From Mangalikhan to Kukuchina you can come by bus. The remaining distance is a 5 kms, walk. Here caves built by Pandavas are worth watching.

Bhatbhot
This mountain is the highest in Distt. AImora. It can be easily seen from Dunagiri.

Sukhdev Muni Ashram
10 kms from Dunagiri is Sukhdev Muni's ashram is a quaint spot.

Nearest railheads are Kathgodam via Manglikhan (133 kms.) and Rarnnagar (146 kms.)

Road: Nearest roadhead is Manglikhan. From here Dunagiri is 600 mts. kms walking distance.
