Entry Permits

Foreigners Every foreigner needs a permit to stay in the Andaman and Nicobar Island. One can acquire the required permit from the immigration authorities at Port Blair. Initially, the permit is applicable for 30 days, however, it can be extend future for 15 days more with permission. Apart from this, one can also acquire permits from

  • Immigration authorities at airport in Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai
  • Foreigner's Registration Offices at Delhi, Kolkata, Mumbai and Chennai
  • Indian Mission Overseas

Places covered by this permit for night halt are

Little Andaman Islands, Middle Andaman Islands, South Andaman Islands (except Jarwa Reserve), Havelock Island, Neil Island, Batatang Island, Long Island, North Passage Island, Diglipur and Island in the Mahatma Gandhi Marine National Part (excluding Hobday, Boat, Twin, Malay, Tarmugli and Pluto Islands)

Night halt in the Marine National Park is possible but only with permission.

Places covered by this permit for day halt are

The Ross Island, Narcondum Island, South Cinque Island, Interview Island, Brother Island, Barren Island & Sister Island are only allowed for a day visit.

Indian National

Indian does not require any permit to visit the Andaman Islands however, visiting tribal areas of Andaman and Nicobar Districts is forbidden.
