Stapled haemorrhoidectomy is a type of surgical procedure that removes abnormally enlarged hemorrhoidal tissue. The surgical procedure follows repositioning of the hemorrhoidal tissues to its anatomic position. Any type of severe hemorrhoidal prolapse requires a surgery.
Removal of abnormally enlarged hemorrhoidal tissue is performed for second-degree haemorrhoids and also higher grades of haemorrhoids. During stapled haemorrhoidectomy surgery, excisions of stapled haemorrhoids are done. In case the external haemorrhoids are large, then a surgery is done to eliminate both internal and external haemorrhoids.
Stapled haemorrhoidectomy procedure involves cutting the arterial blood vessels connected to the haemorrhoids within expanded hemorrhoidal tissue that feeds the blood vessels. The surgery is done to minimize blood flow to the hemorrhoidal vessels. The staples are required until the tissues heal.
Stapled haemorrhoid is done to treat internal haemorrhoids, but in case of external haemorrhoids, they are reduced. The stapled haemorrhoid surgical treatment requires 30 minutes and results in minimal pain.
