Although it is rich in biodiversity like many of the other districts, it lacks any protected area. The longest river of Bhutan, Sankosh or Punatsang Chhu, flows through this district. While travelling to Tsirang from Wangdue Phodrang, you pass by some of the most scenic sights in all of Bhutan.
