Dargay Goempa when it was first constructed, it was a simple Drubdey or meditation centre. Today, it has turned to be one of the important tourist attractions in Wangdue Phodrang.<\/p>\n<p>Upon entering the Goempa, tourists can sense a positive vibe which fills one\u2019s heart with tranquillity. Lam Drukpa Kunley was renowned for his unusual religious practices and due to his unorthodox method of teaching and ribald humour he is still widely considered to be the country\u2019s favourite and most iconic saint.<\/p>\n<p>Besides visiting Dargay Doempa, tourists can even head to visit Phobjikha Valley, the other important point of interest in Wangdue Phodrang. The place is home to the Rare Black Necked Cranes and is one of the beautiful valleys of Bhutan which shouldn\u2019t be missed when holidaying in Wandue Phodrang. On being there, one will get an opportunity to witness the migratory endangered cranes. Also, the famous black-necked crane festival is celebrated every year at the courtyard of Gangtey Goenpa in Phobjikha valley. Also, tourists can even indulge in overnight camping, nature walks and hikes.
