With the onset of summers, the gates of the Annapurna Temple at Dodital lake in Uttarakhand<\/a> open for the tourists and devotees every year, this year being no exception. While Maa Annapurna’s religious procession reached Dodital Tuesday evening along with the ‘Naagdevta’, the religious ceremony took place on Wednesday i.e 4th April 2018 sharp at 8 a.m. Locals, tourists, and devotees gathered from Uttarkashi and Kailasu area to present their offerings to Maa Annapurna.<\/p>\n

Dodital is nestled amid the Garhwal Himalayas and is one of the major tourist spots of Uttarkashi<\/a>. Along with being one of the popular offbeat destinations of Uttarakhand<\/a>, it also the birthplace of Asi Ganga and home to Maa Annapurna. Surrounded by the majestic snow-capped mountain peaks like that of Bandarpoonch<\/a> and Swargarohini<\/a> and thick green oak trees, this religious tourist paradise<\/a> is situated at the height of 3010m above the sea level. One requires to trek for almost 18 km to witness the actual beauty of the place. One of the major attractions of this international tourism spot is famous Himalayan Golden Trout fish along with bird watching, and breathtaking view.<\/p>\n

How to Reach Dodital?<\/h3>\n

One can take a bus or train to Haridwar. On arriving Haridwar further take shared cabs\/buses which leave early morning and drop at Sangamchatti. It Is the place from where the 18-km trek to Dodital begins.<\/p>\n

By Air:<\/b> At the distance of 215 km, Jolly Grant Airport, Dehradun is the nearest airport. Taxis and buses are available from for Sangamchatti from the airport.<\/p>\n
