All That You Need to Know About the 9th Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit 2019
Last Updated: July 23, 2019

Over a decade, a number of programmes have been initiated by the Government of India with the idea which contributed to the betterment of lives in the country. One such programme was the Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit which was conceptualized in the year 2003 by the Government of Gujarat with the vision to re-establish the state as a preferred investment destination in India. Started as a small step, nobody was aware that the Summit would evolve into such a platform for brainstorming on agendas of global socio-economic development of the state. The Summit has led to bringing together the investors, policymakers, and business leaders to take a step forward for the investment in the state. Today, the platform is open to talk about and accept the challenges related to trading thoughts, organizing, networking, sharing and learning for a Vibrant India.

The Birth of Vibrant Gujarat Global Summit?

If you remember the earthquake of the year 2001 and 2002 in Gujarat; a number of people lost their lives, homes and the state had to undergo a severe loss in the industries including healthcare, tourism, infrastructure and investment opportunities. Right after the incident, the reputation of Gujarat started diminishing and outsiders declared Gujarat as an unsafe place to live or even make investments. Despite these disasters, Gujarat got back into position in terms of business and investments but the negative image was already there in the minds of the people. It was this time when the Government of Gujarat thought of rekindling the pace of investments in the state. In the sense, a state which is safe, secure for livelihood, setting up business and investment opportunities. With this, the idea of attracting more investors was laid emphasis so that more business would help in the development of the state. Thus, Vibrant Gujarat was conceptualized which successfully drove the key message that ‘Gujarat is the best investment destination.’ Today, Vibrant Gujarat is no longer known as the ‘Investor’s Summit’ but has become a global platform for sharing knowledge as well as networking.
