Sikkim is beautiful throughout the year, from summer to winter, with each season presenting its unique beauty. Summers are wonderful for sightseeing and photography, while winters are great for enjoying snow sports. Autumn brings its own opportunities, with a lot of festivals being celebrated during this time. Though landslides are common during the monsoons, it adds its own charm. However, the best time to visit Sikkim for holidays is during the summer, from March till June, when the weather is comparatively less cold and comfortably pleasant.

  • Summer in Sikkim (March to June): Ideal for mountaineering, kayaking, river rafting, and hang gliding, witnessing rhododendrons and orchids in their full glory. Important festivals during this time include the International Flower Festival, and the Saga Dawa.
  • Monsoon in Sikkim (July to August): Ideal for visiting waterfalls, and bird watching. Important festivals during this time include the Trungkar Tsechu.
