Shimla in Himachal Pradesh Experiences First Seasonal Snowfall
Shimla, a popular tourist hill destination in northern India left visitors awestruck as they enjoyed snowfall wholeheartedly. After decades of dry Christmas, Sunday witnessed snowflakes as locals and tourist feasted on this auspicious event. Other nearby destinations like the Kufri and Narkanda confronted large blanket of snowfall leaving an impressive paradise for honeymooners visiting these parts. Likewise, other Himachal cities like Manali observed snowfall but was melted after a shower. Moreover, Rohtang Pass has been experiencing heavy snowfall hence it is closed for touring. There are speculations that snowfall might continue in Shimla, Kinnaur, Kullu, Lahaul-Spiti and Chamba districts till Monday. But on the brighter side, this effect has launched new uprise for tourism as many taxi and bus services are booked to visit the snow clad Himachal states. However, this has affected the roads making it slippery preventing vehicular movement on National Highway 5 slow. As of today morning, the temperature of Shimla is at 11°C and is predicted to experience soft sunshine till the 29th.
