Lakhs of Pilgrims Reaching Kedarnath & Other Chardham Temples in Uttarakhand
Within the span of 16 days about 1 lakh people have already performed pilgrimage in Kedarnath. In fact, the other Chardham destinations in Uttarakhand are also seeing a heavy footfall this year.
Opened on 9th May for pilgrimage, Kedarnath is being thronged by devotees in large number, on Wednesday about 9023 pilgrims were recorded in the temple. As per the report about 101065 Hindu devotees have so far performed the pilgrimage in Kedarnath. It is to be noted that Kedarnath was the worst hit in the flash floods in June 2013. And this is the first year after the floods that the number of devotees have gone up so high. Local traders are also quite elated with the increased number of pilgrims in Chardham Yatra 2016. In Gangotri and Yamunotri, 5826 and 4807 (total of about 11000) pilgrims reached on Thursday respectively. Since the portal have been opened for these two Dhams, about 101500 pilgrims in Gangotri and 81000 pilgrims in Yamunotri have already paid homage.
Meanwhile in Badrinath, business tycoon Anil Ambani along with his son Hariant Ambani seeked blessings of Lord Badri on May 26, 2016. Ambani reached Badrinath at around 9.20AM by helicopter and performed the visited the temple, where he offered 5kgs Butter and Tulsi Garlands. Ambani has already donated 1 Crore 55 Lakh for the temple’s management. After performing a special Puja at Badrinath, Anil Ambani also visited Kedarnath by a helicopter.
