Indian Railways is soon going to run a double-decker train from New Delhi to Lucknow.
The Railway Minister, Suresh Prabhu, quoted “Commissioner Railway Safety (CRS) has approved the plan by giving us a clearance.”
Though the date of launch of double-decker train has not been revealed, the authorities plan to start the service before Holi. The train will most probably comprise 12 coaches, each with 110 number of seats. The maximum speed of this train between New Delhi and Lucknow is expected be at 110 km per hour.
The Indian railways currently run AC double-decker trains on few routes including that of Delhi-Jaipur.
