India Launches E-Visa Facility for 43 Countries
Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Hyderabad announced the facility of e-Visas gift for the citizens of 43 countries from 27th November. Some of the prominent names in this list of 43 countries are Palestine, Israel, Germany and US. It is important to mention that electronic visa facility is not valid for people hailing from Somalia, Pakistan, Sudan, Nigeria, Afghanistan, Iran, Iraq and Sri Lanka.
For applying for an e-Visa, one has to submit the required fees and necessary details on the designated website. Within 4 days, the system will generate the electronic version of the visa. As per sources, the required arrangements have been done and the system is planned to function at nine airports – Delhi, Chennai, Mumbai, Kolkata, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Goa. Union home minister with tourism minister Mahesh Sharma will introduce the e-Visa facility.
In the first phase, Brazil, Russia, the UAE, Thailand, Ukraine, Jordan, Norway and Mauritius, among other countries would get the facility. And the 12 countries already granted with Visa on Arrival facility will also get e-Visa facility.
According to reports, Mexico, Kenya and Fiji may also be given e-Visa facility. The president of Indian Association of Tour Operators, Subhas Goyal, said “In an endeavor to endorse India as a 365-destination, we are organizing roadshows in many countries. e-Visa is going to be a milestone in the journey of Indian tourism industry”. He also stated “The introduction of e-Visa will boost the industry by attracting tourists from different parts of the world.”
