Swach Bharat Abhiyan or Clean India Campaign launched by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has gone viral with lots of distinguished personalities from Sachin Tendulkar to Amitabh Bachchan praising this effort. Not only coveted Indians, common ones are also partaking in it by saying no to littering. People from different communities are standing shoulder to shoulder to make this campaign a success and change the impression of India on rest of the world. But you find it hard to be part of this campaign because you are a traveler and thus don’t have much time. Well, you still can be a part of this campaign by doing following things:
Don’t litter Here and There

Throw garbage in the dustbin. It is as simple as that. If you don’t have a dustbin around you, then keep those empty wrappers in your pocket and throw them when you find a dustbin.
Avoid Polythene Bags

Polythene takes hundreds of years to decompose. Use bags made of paper or other biodegradable material
Don’t Spit/Urinate Anywhere

Never spit. It makes the area unhygienic. And you don’t have to urinate in public. Look for public washroom and relieve yourself there.
Don’t Write on the Walls of Monuments

Monuments are the most precious treasures of our nation. Don’t write on their walls and stop others too.
Inform Government Authority About unclean/Unhygienic Places
Click pictures of that unclean/unhygienic place and send it to concerned authority.
Wear a t-shirt with ‘Clean India’ slogan

This way, it is easier to express that you are committed to ‘Clean India’ initiative. And there are strong chances that other tourists will imitate this act.
Use Local Trains/ Battery Operated Vehicles or Clean Fuels Vehicles as mode of transportation

Instead of hiring a taxi, use those modes of transportation that don’t cause pollution.
If Possible, Donate to NGO’s Working for ‘Clean India’ Campaign
: 
In case your inner voice tell you to do more for ‘Clean India Campaign’, then you can always donate to any of the NGOs associated with this cause.
Pass the Message to Other Tourists

As a tourist, you can spend the message among other tourists to not drop litter here and there.

Before checking in any hotel, make sure that it is following eco-friendly norms of the hospitality industry.
