Guwahati being one of the popular tourist destinations in India has taken initiatives to to improve the tourism in Assam. One such is the air connectivity that is to improve the North East India Tourism. Yes, Guwahati (North East India) is connected to three more destinations with direct flights from Sunday i.e., October 28, 2018.
As said by the Airports Authority of India (AAI), the direct flights from the popular Guwahati airport (Lokpriya Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport) will be connected with Pakyong in Sikkim, Bhubaneswar in Odisha and Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh with the popular airlines SpiceJet and Indigo.
Guwahati- Pakyong in Sikkim Direct Flight
Tourists planning for holidaying in either of the two cities can board SpiceJet flight SG-3325 from Pakyong will be arrived at Guwahati and the return flight to Pakyong would be SG-3326 with the flight time of an hour.
Guwahati- Bhubaneswar in Odisha Direct Flight
For travellers looking for Direct flights from Guwahati to Bhubaneshwar in Odisha, Indigo flight 6E-726 will arrive at Guwahati and the return flight 6E-731 will be left for Bhubaneswar.
Guwahati- Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh Direct Flight
Indigo flight 6E-954 will arrive at Guwahati from Varanasi and the return flight 6E-953 will be left for Varanasi.
Also, as stated by AAI, the winter schedule for flight operations also came into effect from the Guwahati Airport on Sunday and it will continue till the last Saturday of March 2019.
So, if you are planning a trip to Guwahati then exploring Assam is not the option you will have. You can also take flights to these new destinations.
