Winning another award in the form of ‘Favourite Leisure Destination in India’ by Conde Nast Traveller India, Goa has added another feather it its cap. It has been the most preferred destination for travelers and this award clearly testifies this statement.
In a press release, Goa Minister Dilip Parulekar said that currently our efforts are concentrated on advancing the infrastructure so that Goa remains a favorite of globetrotters.
The IAS Director of Goa Tourism Department Ameya Abhyankar said “From discos to pubs to hotels to beaches to exuberant atmosphere, Goa offers so much to tourists. This makes it a very obvious choice for vacationing.” He further added “We are aware that tourism plays an important role in country’s growth and we are ensuring that Goa remains in forefront of this growth.”
To attract tourist, Goa Tourism is mulling over introducing leisure services like sea-planes and heli-tourism. In this bid of attracting, the authorities rolled out a ‘Hop On, Hop Off’ bus tour facility in the ongoing St. Francis Xavier Exposition in old Goa.
“Readers who have visited Goa have voted for this award. It enhances the authenticity of the fact that Goa continuous to be the preferred Indian destination for travelers living in and outside India.” Goa Tourism Development Corporation (GTDC) Chairman Nilesh Cabral stated.
