Goa Becomes the First State to Introduce Duck Tours

What are duck boats?
Duck boats are as interesting as the name suggests. These are the amphibian vehicles that are viable on land as well as on water. All the duck tours that will be organized in Goa will be manufactured by Goa-based Amphibious Design (India) Private Limited and assembled in collaboration with US company Advanced Amphibious Design Inc at Automobile Corporation Goa Limited, Honda. Duck boat tour are the part of Make in India program, and it is for the first time that thing is happening in India. Chief Minister, Laxmikant Parsekar flagged off the amphibian joyride service and personally experienced the premiere ride in Mandovi River.

Which are the duck boat trails?
The duck tour will start in November and as of now, there will be only two vehicles, which will carry 32 passengers each. Later four more will be added in phased manner. The circuit tours, which will be of an hour, will operate from Panaji to Old Goa and Dr Salim Ali bird sanctuary during six time slots. In a day, six slots will be scheduled for each vehicle. The current cost of the duck tour will INR 500 but sooner or later, it will be increased to Rs 750. This hour-long journey brings you up close to Goa’s famous historical landmarks, and gorgeous view of the sea.
