A much-awaited venture has finally taken into action with the introduction of low-cost flight between Dehradun and Pithoragarh. The decision is seen as the measure to increase tourist footfall in the state and also for the overall development of Uttarakhand. Hence, the nine-seater flight will operate between Dehradun’s Jolly Grant Airport and Pithoragarh Naini Saini Airport shall help hike up the tourism sector. There will also be flights between Dehradun and Chilyanisor of Uttarkashi district. The flight fares between Dehradun and Pithoragarh are fixed to be at Rs 4,000 while the fares between Dehradun to Chilyanisor route it will be Rs 3,000. The plans to add ten more flight routes between Garhwal and Kumaon regions are advancing in full motion. While the land route to this destinations will take up to 12 hours covering 466 km, with flight services between Dehradun and Pithoragarh you can travel this distance in 40 minutes; and 15 minutes to travel the range between Dehradun to Chilyanisor.
