Pilgrims can register themselves to embark for the Himalayan cave shrine of Amarnath in Kashmir from March 1.
A statement from Union Ministry of Culture said “The Yatra 2015 will begin from March 1, and intending pilgrims can get them registered through selected bank branches. The yatra will start from July 2, 2015 and end on August 29.”
The statement also said that nobody will be allowed to partake in yatra without the permit, which is valid for days and is necessary to use the routes. The permit will be issued by 87 branches of J&K Bank, 305 of Punjab National bank and 38 of YES Bank that are located in various states. For getting a permit, one will have to fill and submit the prescribed application form with the health certificate issued by any authorised doctor or a known private medical institution.
Those planning to travel by helicopter will not be separateregistration but they will have to present the health certificate at the time of boarding.
