Last Updated: January 31, 2019 /

After the introduction of Wi-Fi in Taj Mahal, the internet service will be made available at 25 heritage sites- Sun Temple in Konark; Kumbhalgarh Fort in Kelwara; the group of temples in Khajuraho, etc. All these archaeological sites are recognised by the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI), to provide free Wi-Fi, which would be complimentary for first 30 minutes and thereafter its chargeable per minute basis. As per the information by the official sources, the service is an initiative of Digital India programme. As per the programme, the government aims to cover cities with a population of over 1 million and tourist destinations with Wi-Fi services by December 2015. The services will be available at select public places within these cities. With this idea, foreign tourists will also remain connected and it will also lower traffic burden on telecom networks. See the table below for the list of places where Wi-Fi service will be provided.
